Indonesian Heritage
Before opening our doors to the public, Raffles Jakarta has created bespoke creations to our guests, ranging from bathrobe to…
The story starts with the founder, William Penhaligon. A humble Cornish barber who rose to the Royal Court and trimmed the Shah of Persia’s beard.
In 1872 William created his first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, and in 1956 Penhaligon’s was awarded its second Royal Warrant by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. The iconic Penhaligon’s store at Wellington Street was opened in 1977 and bestowed with a further Royal Warrant from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in 1988.
Since both brands were established in the 19th century, Penhaligon’s and Raffles share the same royal lifestyle, history, and heritage in luxury.
As part of Accor’s Planet 21 commitment to reduce plastic waste and provide a positive hospitality experience, Raffles Jakarta is making a difference in the guest stay. Individual bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel have been replaced with Penhaligon’s amenity dispenser.
Available for purchase at The Raffles Spa.
